The Different Types Of Personalised Respite Care

Which Type of Respite Care?

There are different types of respite care. Choosing the right Short stay residential home ensures you have time away, so that you will be refreshed and ready to give the best care. You can choose from different types of respite care, based on the needs and preferences of you and your loved one;

In-Home Aids

If you would prefer to keep your loved one at home you can hire an in-home carer independently or through a reputed respite care agency. There are various services that in-home aids provide, from special care services to housekeeping services. If your loved one is suffering from a particular age-related disease, you can ask for in-home aids that specialize in the condition. In-home aids allow your loved one to have the familiarity of home with skilled support.

Everyday Respite Care Centers

Similar to the concept of day care centers for children, ‘everyday’ care centers are the perfect option for those caregivers who have to work. These centers are open for fixed hours during the day, where you can drop off your loved ones to be cared for. There are many advantages to this type of respite care setting. Your loved one will socialize with others and make friends, while also engaging in activities that keep them active and occupied. The only drawback for this type of respite care is that they have limited hours, and no overnight care is available.

Residential Homes With Respite

Another great option is a residential home offering respite care. These homes provide 24-hour care for residents, making it possible for you to take a break, or to attend business events. Short-stay residential homes can provide the best solution for you and your loved one. Especially if you need to travel frequently for work or other reasons, and want to be sure your loved on is being cared for.
